Goliath, the legendary Philistine giant from the biblical story of David and Goliath, joins Team Jesus Christ in Holy Night: Jesus Christ vs Santa Claus, bringing the overwhelming strength and imposing presence of one of the most famous warriors of the Old Testament to this extraordinary fantasy confrontation.
According to the First Book of Samuel, Goliath was a mighty champion of the Philistine army who challenged the Israelites to single combat. His enormous stature, formidable armour and fearsome weapons made him an apparently unbeatable opponent until the young shepherd David defeated him with a stone launched from his sling. This miniature reimagines the legendary giant as a heavily armed fantasy warrior, ready to take his place alongside his former adversary in the unusual ranks of Team Jesus Christ.
The sculpture depicts Goliath as an exceptionally muscular warrior with a long, thick beard and a stern expression. His head is protected by an ornate helmet, while his broad chest is covered by detailed scale armour. A reinforced belt, protective forearm guards and heavy greaves complete his imposing military equipment.
In one hand he carries a massive spear with a broad, pointed head and a thick, reinforced shaft. In the other he wields a large sword with a substantial blade, emphasising his ability to dominate the battlefield through sheer strength and reach.
His powerful stance on a circular stone-paved base reinforces the impression of an experienced champion prepared to confront any challenger. The carefully sculpted scales of his armour, ornamental metalwork, muscular anatomy and oversized weapons provide numerous opportunities for detailed miniature painting.
With his unmistakable biblical inspiration and formidable appearance, Goliath is a striking addition to Team Jesus Christ and the Holy Night collection. Displayed alongside David, he allows collectors to bring together the two legendary figures of one of the most celebrated confrontations in biblical tradition, now united within an imaginative fantasy setting.
