Jesus Christ – Team Jesus Christ | Holy Night

Jesus Christ takes his place as the leader of Team Jesus Christ in Holy Night: Jesus Christ vs Santa Claus, becoming one of the central figures of this unusual fantasy confrontation between two armies inspired by Christmas traditions, biblical characters and legendary creatures.

This imaginative interpretation presents Jesus in a completely different role from his traditional religious depictions. Rather than appearing as a peaceful teacher or spiritual guide, he is transformed into a determined fantasy warrior, armed with an enormous battle axe and prepared to lead his followers into combat.

The sculpture depicts Jesus with long hair, a full beard and the unmistakable crown of thorns resting upon his head. His serious expression conveys determination, while his long tunic and flowing cloak preserve the familiar appearance associated with traditional representations of Christ.

His most striking feature is the massive double-headed axe raised high above his head with both hands. The weapon features broad, symmetrical blades decorated with geometric engravings and a reinforced shaft, giving the figure a powerful and dramatic appearance.

The dynamic pose captures the moment before a mighty downward strike. One leg is planted firmly on the stone-paved ground while the other is positioned forward, creating a sense of movement and balance. His robes and cloak sweep around his body, adding energy to the composition and emphasising the action of the scene.

The contrast between his recognisable biblical appearance and the oversized fantasy weapon gives the miniature its distinctive character. The carefully sculpted facial features, crown of thorns, layered garments and elaborate axe provide interesting opportunities for miniature painting.

As the leader of Team Jesus Christ, this figure stands at the heart of the Holy Night collection, facing Santa Claus and his extraordinary army in a playful fantasy reinterpretation of Christmas imagery. A memorable centrepiece that combines familiar religious iconography with the dramatic style of heroic fantasy miniatures.
