Archangel Gabriel – Team Jesus Christ | Holy Night

Archangel Gabriel joins Team Jesus Christ in Holy Night: Jesus Christ vs Santa Claus, bringing the majesty and authority of one of the most recognisable angelic figures in Christian tradition to this extraordinary fantasy confrontation.

Known as the divine messenger who announces the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary in the Gospel of Luke, Gabriel holds a central place in the biblical story of the Nativity. This miniature reimagines the celebrated archangel as a magnificent celestial warrior, combining the symbolism of a heavenly herald with the appearance of a heroic fantasy champion.

The sculpture depicts Gabriel as an elegant, long-haired figure wearing intricately decorated armour. His breastplate, shoulder guards and protective greaves feature elaborate ornamental patterns, while flowing robes and fabric panels add movement and refinement to his appearance.

Two enormous feathered wings spread dramatically from his back, creating an impressive silhouette that dominates the composition. Each layer of feathers is carefully sculpted, from the smaller feathers near the shoulders to the long flight feathers extending towards the tips.

Gabriel carries a slender spear with a broad, pointed blade, emphasising his role as a celestial warrior. In his other hand he holds a trumpet, the traditional artistic symbol of an angelic herald, ready to announce a divine message. His composed expression and confident stance reinforce the contrast between heavenly serenity and martial strength.

Standing on a rocky base, Archangel Gabriel combines richly detailed armour, flowing garments and magnificent wings in a miniature full of character. His striking design makes him an important addition to Team Jesus Christ and a particularly appealing figure for collectors and painters who enjoy angelic warriors, biblical mythology and epic fantasy miniatures.
