There comes a moment in every battle when movement gives way to absolute concentration. The warrior steadies his breathing, tightens his grip and fixes his gaze upon the enemy. The next strike will decide everything.

Savage Conqueror is inspired by Conan the Barbarian, the legendary Cimmerian created by Robert E. Howard. Known for his extraordinary strength, fierce independence and exceptional skill with a sword, Conan has become one of the most influential figures in heroic fantasy, embodying the dangerous and untamed spirit of the Hyborian Age.

This second miniature presents the barbarian in a strikingly different pose from the first version. Rather than preparing an overhead attack, he stands firmly with both feet planted on the ground, holding his sword in front of his body with both hands. The blade extends forward and upward, creating a powerful defensive or offensive stance that suggests complete readiness for the confrontation ahead.

His posture emphasizes control and determination. The arms are extended, the shoulders remain tense and the legs are positioned to provide maximum stability. Every element of the composition suggests a seasoned warrior who understands that strength alone is not enough to survive a deadly encounter.

The character's impressive anatomy is particularly prominent. His broad chest, heavily muscled arms and powerful shoulders convey the physical conditioning of a fighter accustomed to brutal battles and demanding journeys. The sculpted musculature is complemented by subtle anatomical details that reinforce the natural appearance of his imposing physique.

His long hair falls around his shoulders, framing a stern expression marked by concentration and resolve. A small pendant hangs from his neck, introducing a decorative element that contrasts with the otherwise practical simplicity of his equipment.

The sword is the central feature of the composition. Its long, straight blade rises prominently above the character, while the detailed crossguard and hilt reinforce the appearance of a substantial weapon designed for close combat. The two-handed grip gives the figure a distinctive sense of precision and controlled power.

His clothing remains deliberately simple, consisting of sturdy trousers secured at the waist and heavy boots decorated with thick fur around the calves. The folds of the fabric, layered footwear and textured fur create visual variety while maintaining the rugged appearance associated with a wandering barbarian.

The scenic base features a circular section of cracked stone paving, with irregular slabs and fractured surfaces suggesting the remains of an ancient courtyard or ruined fortress. Its understated design allows the warrior's imposing silhouette and extended sword to dominate the composition.

This interpretation highlights an essential aspect of Conan's character: beneath his savage reputation lies an experienced combatant whose instincts, determination and practical intelligence are as important as his formidable physical strength. The restrained pose communicates that experience through a moment of focused anticipation.

For miniature painters, Savage Conqueror offers an excellent opportunity to work with natural skin tones, carefully defined muscles and contrasting materials. The metallic sword, flowing hair, rugged fabric and fur-trimmed boots provide a varied selection of textures, while the weathered stone base can be finished in muted greys or earthy colors to evoke an ancient battlefield.

A commanding representation of a legendary barbarian warrior, capturing the discipline, strength and relentless courage of a swordsman prepared to face whatever dangers await him.

The miniature is supplied cleaned and ready to play, prime and paint.
